A Specific Method for Measuring Osteoclast-Derived TRACP 5b Activity from Human Serum
BoneTRAP® Assay (TR201) is a solid-phase immunofixed enzyme activity assay for the rapid and specific determination of bone resorption rate from human serum samples. It can be used in human osteoclast cultures.
- detects specifically osteoclast-derived TRACP 5b from human serum
- low diurnal variation
- no accumulation in renal or hepatic failure
- detects spreading of tumor cells to bone in patients with breast cancer
- detects increased bone-resorption rate in patients with osteoporosis and renal osteodystrophy
- useful for monitoring the efficacy of antiresorptive therapy (HRT, SERMS, bisposphonates)
